Feeding on Feedly #1

Ok, so. For the next ten days I’m going to try this new challenge for a class of mine at CNU. I’m going to make four posts about my experience on Feedly, good or bad.

Today I noticed that as I enter Feedly, there’s multiple sections of general data and articles. On the side there are tabs that I have made for my own personal experience. I click on the News tab I have made that contribute multiple news pages I personally liked. For today, I realized that the most popular articles are at the top of my feed, much like how Instagram does its algorithm. As a side note, I am writing this blog post and looking over Feedly past midnight–so keep that in mind for this blog posts’ perspective.

Most Popular Section

As I continue to scroll, I realize that even though I follow so few pages, I am updated very quickly for the new day. Even in the dead of night in Virginia, I am updated with posts about the New York runway! It seems that as soon as Associated Press finishes a project, no matter when the News source wants to post it. It is definitive that projects are distributed in a timely manner due to the flow of news on a daily basis. Though, Feedly is strict on what exact day an article has been posted so your personal news medium is thoroughly organized.

Quick update posts after midnight

As I continue to scroll on for what has been happening in the world for the past 24 hours, it takes me multiple scrolls and reloads to reach posts that are from 11 hours posted prior. From this, I can gather that if an event is happening, you could go to Feedly for constant updates.

I am excited for my challenge to continue for these ten days of media research! Happy Hump Day ❤
