Happy Hump Day! Today is my last day of going on Feedly for my classes challenge. I’ve noticed today that there were lots of articles that focused on environmental concerns, whether it’s about climate change or animal extinction. Concerns about the weather was as well apparent on Feedly. There wasn’t a lot of positive articles today, which is obviously a bummer. Other than the weather or environmental concerning articles, the other negative articles were about shootings in the Newport News and Hampton Roads area. These areas of where these shootings had happened are where I actually currently live. Sometimes I forget that at my college, Christopher Newport University, it’s a “bubble” in regards to what happens off-campus.
Anyways, I say I’ve noticed a good amount of environmental concerns because of how in the past 2 weeks, 4 dead whales have washed ashore, and how the ‘Brexit gap’ over wildlife protection is looming. Then, with the weather, articles like “Marines train in climate that mimics Russia, Korea,” “Potential inclement weather causes delays on Peninsula for Wednesday,” and “Winter weather hammers US midwest, east coast,” were popular reads today from the Associated Press and Daily Press.
I really appreciate that environmental and weather concerns are being written about because, most people I talk to don’t believe our natural world around us is in trouble, but rather just our world’s society is. Talking about these topics can improve everyone’s overall understanding and impact we leave on this earth.
That is all. Have a great Hump Day, everyone!
